Today we discussed organization for our memoir and we continued to write our short stories tied to our theme.

We sent out an email to all parents today regarding two field trips and one for Duffield/Kruger Reading class.

Today, students were pushed into thinking about symbolism that could tie into their memoir theme. Lots of creative thinking occurred and we hope those thoughts will continue.

We focused on introductions for our memoirs today; what is a theme important to me that I want to showcase? Students all tried an introduction and we share with our writing partnerships.

Memoir writing has begun in our classrooms and today we spoke about theme. Students are creating small stories ideas and today we tried to cluster those into themes (loss, disappointed, trama, friendship, accomplishment). We will continue to discuss theme and decide on one tomorrow since it will lead our memoir writing.
