Students are starting to wrap up reading their biographies and taking notes. Using digital sources is also part of the plan for our biographies. In Social Studies, we are taking T-chart notes on daily life in Ancient Egypt and students will reflect on their preference of note-taking (Cornell or T-Chart).

We have been working on multiple sources for our biographies. Today, we added an EasyBib Chrome extension to our Chromebooks to make citing sources easier. We are continuing to study Ancient Egypt and started looking at the social structure pyramid.

We have been working hard on creating categories/subtopics for our upcoming biography unit. Students have created many different ideas, such as; education, inspirations, struggles, early life, etc.... In Social Studies, we continued to work on our Egypt information.

Today in Social Studies, we took our Ancient Egyptian subtopics and turned them into topic sentences for our summary paragraphs. We also took our bullet points from our notes and made them supporting sentences for our topic sentence. In ELA, we started to discuss biographies. In Science, we looked at asthma, pancreatic injury, anemia and diabetes and how they affect the human body.

Today we presented our co-written theme-based literary essays, we created subtopic for our Ancient Egypt topic, and learned about jobs of the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems.
